Evening all, and a Happy New Year to everyone ;0).
That's Christmas done and dusted, lovely time as always, and having Christmas dinner on Sunday and cold on Christmas day (girls went to their dads on Boxing day) worked well, no Sherry cum Turkey disaster combo, slippery customers them there Turkeys after a sherry or two or three! Just had a vision of a turkey sipping sherry, bizarre!
And what about the Snowman and his dog?! didn't you just know he was going to start melting when he curled up in front of the fire, but ahhh, loverly ending.
Talking of fires, next project, managed to get a cast iron fire setting from Chris in Cowes, for £30, bargain, it was (arms stretched out) about yay big, Chris had a tape measure, which he used to check the width of my Suzuki boot, oh ye of little faith, it was going in no matter what, I've had bigger things in my boot than that, single beds, kitchen counters, you name it, and I'll try my damnedest to get it in. There is going to have to be a couple of tweaks to my fireplace before I can actually fit it in place though, as Alan said, "it's too big", nothing that can't be sorted.
501 days to go, and today I received my walking boots, thank you ex Mother in Law, I know I will most probably need another pair before I go, but tis exciting, my first proper pair of walking boots, I look the part from the ankle down!
Managed to do one cupboard kickback one more to go, and put up a shelf, which kept falling down off its prop, will leave the other kickback till next year, as I am babysitting the grand kids tonight, my wine will have to wait till 2013, not long 6 hours ish.
Well, A Happy and healthy New Year to you and yours, here's to 2013xx Janetx

Day? - 520
Well, Christmas decs up and they look loverly, even though I say so myself!
Just spent the last two hours browsing ebay, and not achieved a thing, then I couldn't find the blog to sign in, but as you can see I'm here now, 'hello', wish I knew what I was doing on this dang computor thing, my sister Hazel told me to play with it, she also said I couldn't break it....... give me time!
I will attempt to get the Marie Curie giving page up and running as soon as possible, still haven't touched base with the local fund raising lady, but have lots of ideas swishing about in my head!
My next diy project is to make some kick boards for the kitchen cupboards, now, it won't matter how wonky I cut them, as the only way you will ever know the edges are wonky is if you lay on my kitchen floor, and I know half my mates are not going to do that coz they would never get up again! ;0)
Ehh, thought I had found my blog, now I have
