263 days to go - opps, when did that happen!
Things are starting to hot up now, Dawn is having a coffee morning and tombola, (don't you just love that word?!), who is Tom Bola anyway? did he invent tombolas? or did he just want his name associated with them? emm, makes you think!!
Quiz date set for October, I need to get out and drum up raffle prizes and food for the night. David has kindly given me a quiz but he is unable to be the master, looks like I will have to be the mistress :0) work in progress on that one.
The Marie Curie team have organised a weekend trek in the Peaks in September, stroll in the park NOT!!! this will be the time I find out how unfit I am and what I've let myself in for....
I've got the boots

YAHOO,(is that advertising?) took me half an hour to get that pic up! thought I had to download, upload, unload, reload, then I find out I haven't got an android but might have an iphone, still not sure what I did but there you go.
I've only got one pair of hiking socks, pink as you can see and I will need a jacket cum coat cum anorak thingey as I assume it rains in the Peaks in September, also I need to look the part so I blend in and don't get mistaken for someone who has no idea what they are doing or that they have never done this before, shiney new ja-co-an thingey may give it away, perhaps sleep in it for a couple nights, outside of course, take the shine off it!
I will be taking advantage of my time in the Peaks to go and visit my old mate Nicki in Nottingham, haven't seen her for 30 years! well looking forward to it, just hope the Vitara stands up to the challenge of the motorways and the distance, fingers crossed X.
Now to start on the quiz flyers ;0)

I'm Back ;0)

Well it's been a while since I've updated this, major operation done and dusted!
Now back into training, well taking the dog for a walk is about my limits at the moment.
But for some unknown reason, I agreed to take on the challenge of the Great Delivery of Yellow Pages Mountain, and anyone who has delivered YPs will know, you might just as well be trekking on the Great Wall of China, with the added excitement of dodging killer dogs, and the idiots who think its funny to lay in wait and whip the YPs out of your hand on the other side of the letter box ha flippen ha! (you know who you are).
Need to get my thinking cap on for the next fund raiser, nothing too physical, so abseiling out for the moment!, maybe the supermarket bag packing, I have been told this is a good way to raise money, just need to get a few people involved. Any volunteers?? you get to dress up in yellow or blue, for those who get migraines looking at to much yellow and I have one silly hat we can share and wellie boots with daffs, anything for a laugh.
On the subject of abseiling, I contacted an agreeable looking fella on my internet dating site with the suggestion, that as he has been training to abseil perhaps he would like to do one for my charity, he's not got back to me! any suggestions as to where I'm going wrong?! ;0)

Four weeks tomorrow of R&R after major op, where has the time gone?! I notice myself gazing longingly at my still new and shiney walking boots, which at the moment would be too heavy for me to walk in!
The need for carbohydrates, cake to you and me, and for some unknown reason, hot cross buns in particular, (I always listen to my body), has taken over my fear of not making it home once I set out round the corner to the shops! Hanging on to windows is not a good look.
Seems mad, but on my rare forays out I have had trouble keeping up with the old dears, who are meandering round the shops, one very kindly asked if I wanted to pass, after a quick explanation of my situation and no hope of me building up enough steam to get past, they very kindly set a nice slow pace while discussing my predicament. "whats that you say? she's had an operation, having to walk slow, oh OK!
I have settled into an interesting routine of (yes you guessed Sarah & Vicky) Homes under the Hammer, pottering, facebook, occasional forays, collapse, Under the Sun Home or Away,(like your gonna choose here!) Come Dine with Me, and Sarah Beeney. and once or twice Jeremy Kyle (same old same old!) and he is soooo up himself.
Now I enjoyed the TV programmes at first, until I found myself looking round the house, then the frustration set in! I have now admitted to myself that the only hope is to move out and let total renovation take place within 6 months with a budget of £50 thousand. Now to find the money!!!!
Just realised Mr Womble is still champing at the bit> I will have to rejuvenate him tmorrow :0)

Fandabedosie day today!

Pete bravely had his hair shaved off, and as it was so long, not only did Marie Curie benefit by nearly £250,wahhoo!!! but also
The Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children suffering hair loss due to cancer did, with a lovely ponytail.
A huge thank you to Pete for taking on this challenge, and yes I know I need to do something just as brave, mmm, but what?
I'm sure I'll think of something.
Now, back to up/down loading these pics, I think I've got the hang of it, so it shouldn't be too long before I can post them, talking about post, took the ponytail into the post office, (inside an envelope of course!), and the young lady asked me if it was worth £46 or more, did flummox me a bit, so I said its hair, luckily there was no queue, sounds quite sinister, she then got her whatsamacallit out and proceeded to measure the width of said envelope, cost first class, £2.90 and worth every penny:0)

Womble on

Just giving page is looking a little lonely! One donation so far, need to get Mr Womble out there trekking the www.
Going to be giving the kick boards another go in a min, need to get physical things out of the way before mid April and I become incapacitated for a few weeks (will tell more nearer the time):0)
Managed to re-screw the bathroom shade back up, it was hanging by the wires, did notice that one side has started to come away from the ceiling again, still half up is better than whole down isn't it?.
The snow is starting to clear now, don't get snow on the Isle of Wight often, so we never seem ready for it, and all hell lets loose!
Yesterday I set off  to work 10 miles away, snowing, freezing winds the lot, cleared my Suziki Vitara soft top of snow so I could see where I was going, did think about the 4x4 bit, but I'm not 100 percent sure how to do it, took it nice and steady,so far so good, then I come to Arreton, one of the villages, and the traffic had come to a complete stop, slowly edged forward, stopped then applied the gas to move, and the wheels were just going round and round and the car was not moving!! whipped it into 2nd gear and crossed everything, wheels still going round, car not moving, lots of noise going on, then YES, got a grip, so embarrassing!! managed to get round a couple of nasty bends, thinking can I pull over and have a look at this 4x4 thingy on the front wheels, then nah,way too cold!, avoided the little sporty car fish tailing coming at me, then as if by magic the road was clear'ish of snow, off I went, got to work, and the group had been cancelled due to the snow, would you Adam & Eve it, all that drama, and I just had to turn around and do it all again!
So, I enquired if anyone knew about my 4x4 thingey, which of course they all did, but, I turned the thingey me bob in the wheel clockwise, then was shown which gear on my little knob to use, returned home without a hiccup. And now the snow is melting, give me a few days, and no doubt I will think about turning the thingey back anti clockwise, but not yet, I like the little green light that says 4x4 ;0)
Now, back to those kick boards.

Wombles to the rescue!

Not everyone knows what a womble is, even the computer is questioning it, suggesting a wobble or womb le!
A womble is, I hope, my secret weapon, I will be enlisting his help by sending him halfway round the world to China, marking off each mile he manages with a pound a time. (sponsor pounds, not weight, even I would disappear if I lost 3000 pounds!).

Lets see how far we can get Mr Womble.

 http://www.justgiving.com/Janet-Fisher

Here is the just giving page, if you would like to visit it, donate one pound (or more, see how you feel) and like the page to share with your friends, so they can visit it, donate just one pound (or more) and like the page, to share with their friends, so they can visit it, donate just one pound (or more) and like the page, to share with their friends ....... get the idea?! Go on, you know it's for a good cause ;0)

I'm not sure of his name, he's the one with the blue cap, which when I can work out how to upload his picture, you will see is missing, its here some where, oh yes his specs as well! I have drawn some on for him so he doesn't feel totally naked, can get quite cold at night in China, pretty parky in Wimbledon Common too, that's where the fur comes in handy.
Gosh, if you have no idea who or what a Womble is, the images you must be getting, ohhh doesn't bear thinking about!
Please feel free to comment, and if you know what my Womble is called, please do tell.
Just realised I'm going to need to sort out g+ on my phone so I can upload pictures, me and this technology stuff........

-478 days and counting, not mentioning the other thingey, you know, the pounds, as in pounds and ounces thingey, sshhhhhh!!!!

Day  -493 - wish I could lose weight that easily!
mmm, do I or don't I?  OK, at least 28lbs to lose, why do pounds seem less than 2 stone? so I shall show my weight count down too.
You can't see my face right now, but trust me it's screwed up scared ;0/

OK, need to get a debate going on the best exercise dvd. (nearly put video).
Yesterday I did Davina's High Energy Five, borrowed from Shelley, not Davina's latest, which I noticed Sainsburys is doing for £14.99.  Music could have been better, I did lose interest a bit! but I feel it has done my tummy muscles good. 7/10.
Today I tried Lorraine Kelly'a Walk Off The Pounds, bought from the pound shop for.....£1, nice lady, but not very inspiring, and you need one of those stretchy elastic band things, not included, so I could only do the first bit. 5/10
Pound shop had a couple of different ones, so I will see what I can get.

Finally got my Giving page set up, will see how that goes, also Peter from the Riverside,  has very kindly offered to have his head shaved, well I coerced him actually, not allowed to touch the beard tho!
Thanks Pete, you are going to be my first project.

Is it day 505? only 300 odd days till Christmas!

Here's to a Happy, Healthy and productive 2013 to one and all.

I hope I have got my JustGiving page up and running now, and this should be the link....justgiving.com/Janet-Fisher ... I will check it in a moment. Don't you just hate it when the computer does that?! I can't figure out how to get back to my original font size!! ekkk its getting worse...... any better?

Now? pesky font size key needed changing, feel better now, I'm back in control.

Now the holidays are over and people are returning back to work tomorrow, except Grant who goes back on Monday, I should be able to get a hold of my local fund raising lady and start getting some ideas down on paper, and like I said, please feel free to comment on here, anything considered.

I've just read through the above, and I am feeling decidedly sick, and I've got a crick in my neck, no more italics I think, unless of course I need to make a point, or someone feel sick!!

I will be taking a picture of the new walking boots for your perusal, once I have sussed the 'smart' phone, not so smart when it can't figure out that people with different names, mainly my brothers, do not share a phone so they can't have the same number! and sending messages to the same person even though I had tapped a different name. huh, not so smart now eh?!

Technology, I love it... not
